报告题目：Chiral Nano-materials and Their Potential Applications

报告摘要：
Chiral nanomaterials represent a cutting-edge frontier in nanotechnology, defined by structures that cannot be superimposed on their mirror images. This asymmetry creates unique physical and chemical phenomena—such as the differential interaction with circularly polarized light (CPL) and spin-selective electron transport—that are absent in traditional achiral materials. In this talk, I will discuss the preparation of some chiral plasmonic gold nanorods, Au@Pd nano-heterostructure, and some chiral metal oxides. The optical properties of these chiral nano-materials upon interaction with CPL and their photocatalytic properties and sensing properties upon CPL irradiation, and in the presence of magnetic field, will be discussed.
报告人简介：
黄国贤教授，现任香港理工大学潘燊昌应用化学励学教授及化学科技讲座教授，英国皇家化学学会会士。博士毕业于香港大学化学系，先后在美国加州理工学院与加拿大麦基尔大学从事博士后研究和访问学者研究。黄教授历任香港理工大学应用生物及化学科技学系系主任、应用科学及纺织学院院长、协理副校长（科研支援）、副校长（教学）及化学生物学及药物研发国家重点实验室主任。担任香港特区政府创新科技署指定本地研究机构评审专家小组副主席及香港政府教育局自资专上教育委员会成员。黄教授研究领域包括电化学、绿色化学、生物传感器及抗生素之研发，至今已发表300余篇SCI文章，其团队有关生物传感器之研究于2013年获得国家教育部自然科学奖二等奖。
